Meet James Archer

James is Wilsthorpe Focus Team Lead, a Parish Councillor in Sawley and the chair of the Erewash Liberal Democrats, alongside his full-time job as an senior expert in high performance computing at a local large engineering firm.

He has been working hard in Sawley and Wilsthorpe, from litter picking with his son to laying the wreath on behalf of the Parish council at the remembrance service.  He is willing to work with anyone of any party and those of none as he does on Sawley Parish council.

His ‘punk’ appearance reflects both his musical tastes and his political outlook - that things can be different.

James said: “The punk ethos encourages questioning of the way society works, and my engineering background encourages me to make change for the better. happen”

James is a Green Liberal Democrat (a group within the Lib Dems that  drives forward the party’s green agenda) and is involved with the local group, Eco-Erewash.  His commitment to the environment is reflected in his dedication to fighting climate change through his own actions. His house no longer uses gas for heating and cooking and he drives an electric vehicle.

“I am passionate about fixing things and restoring faith in politics by being a different kind of politician and one that gets things done.”
